Sophie Hart is turning pro. The former Gophers center has signed with Bosonit Unibasket Logroño, a club in Spain's LF Challenge, marking the next step after a three-year run in the maroon and gold that ended with her name etched all over the program's record books.
After transferring to Minnesota, Hart started all 99 games she played across three seasons in the program, anchoring the interior for a team that made a Sweet 16 run. She finished her Gophers career shooting 54.5 percent from the field, going 445-for-816, a mark that ranks third all-time in program history. She also crossed the 1,000-point threshold for her career during her final collegiate tournament run.
Hart saved her best for last. In her graduate season in 2025-26, she posted career-best averages of 11.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, and she was honored with the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award for her conduct on and off the floor.
Now it's on to Logroño, a city in northern Spain, where Hart joins a club competing in the LF Challenge, one of the country's top professional women's basketball tiers. For Gophers fans, it's another reminder of how far the program's talent has traveled in recent years — and one more name to keep tabs on as it builds a career overseas.
