UofMN AI ("we") keeps this simple. This site has no user accounts, no logins, and no sign-up forms, and we don't sell or rent visitor data to anyone.
The only personal information we get is what you choose to send. A message through the contact form carries your name, email and message, kept so we can reply and never published. An event posted to the Campus board carries the contact details you give it, shown on the board only if you choose to show them.
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and how the site is performing — aggregate traffic, roughly where visits come from, which stories are popular. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data such as your approximate location and device/browser, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We use this only to improve the site, not to identify individual readers.
You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
Some pages embed public meeting video from YouTube using its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which avoids setting tracking cookies unless you press play. Links out to other sites (source citations, X posts) are governed by those sites' own privacy policies once you click through.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Questions about privacy? Send them through our contact form. More about the site is on our About page, and usage terms are on the Terms page.
