Two departures at the Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication have kicked off a national search for new leadership, according to the Minnesota Daily. Director Elisia Cohen and the school's undergraduate student services coordinator both decided to move on from their Hubbard posts earlier this summer.
Cohen had led Hubbard as director since January 2017, arriving after four years chairing the Department of Communication at the University of Kentucky. She's now stepping into a university-wide role as Vice Provost for Graduate and Professional Education and Dean of the Graduate School, a job she started June 15, according to the Hubbard School's website.
María E. Len-Ríos, who joined Hubbard in 2022 as its first-ever associate director, is now serving as interim director while the search for a permanent replacement plays out. The Hubbard School's administration page lists Emily Vraga as interim associate director for faculty and administration, filling the seat Len-Ríos vacated.

On the student services side, Sierra Siffer is leaving after three years coordinating undergraduate services at Hubbard for a new role in the university's Office of Student Finance, where she'll work with study-abroad students.
