Tyler Johnson is heading into his 7th NFL season, this time with the Dallas Cowboys after signing a 1-year deal earlier in the offseason. The wide receiver starred at Minneapolis North before playing for the Gophers.
Johnson signed a 1-year, $1,215,000 contract with a $1,075,000 cap hit, per the deal's terms.
Two other former Gophers are reporting to Seattle, which enters camp as the defending Super Bowl champion after beating the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX in February. Deven Eastern, a defensive lineman out of Shakopee who was a key piece of the Gophers' defensive line, was drafted by the Seahawks in the 7th round in April.
Tight end Nick Kallerup, who went to high school at Wayzata and walked on with the Gophers, signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent last year and made the 53-man roster. Both he and Eastern are now in camp trying to help the Seahawks defend their title.
