Amaya Battle is taking her game to Italy. The former Gophers women's basketball guard has signed a professional contract with Logiman Broni, a club that competes in Serie A1, Italy's top-tier division, per Gopher Sports.
Battle, a Hopkins, Minn. native, wraps up a four-year run in the Maroon and Gold as one of the most impactful playmakers in program history, according to Gopher Sports. She's the only player in Gopher history to finish a career with more than 1,500 points, 775 rebounds, and 590 assists. Her final tallies: 1,533 points (10th all-time), 776 rebounds (10th all-time), and 599 assists (2nd all-time).
Battle capped it off with a big senior season in 2025-26, earning All-Big Ten Third Team and All-Big Ten Defensive Team honors. She was at the center of Minnesota's memorable postseason run, hitting the game-winning shot to beat Mississippi and send the Gophers to their first NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 since 2005. She also picked up Second Team CSC Academic All-American honors for her work in the classroom.

Now she'll bring that all-around game to Serie A1, one of the more competitive women's pro leagues in Europe, continuing her basketball career overseas after leaving Minnesota with her name all over the program's record book.
